We work with landowners, lessees, contractors and subcontractors in all stages of land development. For example, we help landowners subdivide tracts of land to sell lots. Part of this process entails a review of existing covenants and easements concerning the project's viability, as well as working with surveyors to ensure the creation of any necessary land use restrictions to protect the landowner’s interests. We will similarly bring our experience with local and state commissions and agencies to help ensure compliance with applicable regulations. One key to successful land development is the creation of effective leases and contracts. To this end, we negotiate and draft, on behalf of landowners or lessees, commercial leases and common area maintenance agreements. From new shopping centers to historic structures, we work hard to reach agreements that meet your needs and protect your interests. Construction projects do not always end as planned. We have the courtroom experience to help pursue or defend mechanic liens and other claims that often arise in land development projects.
